About Us

In July of 2011, God first put the possibility of a disaster relief ministry on Keith Berger's heart. He prayed about it briefly then set the idea off to the side. Again, in July of 2012 at a church camp, God rekindled the thought of a ministry of helping others. When hurricane Sandy hit the upper East Coast in the fall of 2012, God sealed the deal with Keith. At that point Keith knew it was time to begin a construction ministry to help others. Starting part-time in the spring of 2013, Crisis Relief began. Keith continued to work in the automotive dealership business as well.
In the spring of 2016, God again nudged Keith to move into full-time ministry. That fall Crisis Relief went full-time and seeking volunteers and funding became a priority. Keith knows God’s call into ministry was valid because He has provided everything needed along the journey. Since our humble beginning in 2012, the ministry has grown with a second full-time employee and dozens of faithful volunteers.
Crisis Relief does a wide range of projects and aims to help whenever possible. We have had the chance to work in various places across Ohio and with continual hurricane relief in the Bahamas.
Our Calling...
"Then He (Jesus) said to His disciples,
'The harvest is plentiful but the workers are few. Ask the Lord of the harvest, therefore, to send out workers into His harvest field.'"
Matthew 9:37-39 NIV
Keith lost his first wife, Janice, to cancer in December of 2019. God brought Keith & Betsy together in 2020. Betsy has been involved in leading various ministries for many years and was praying about how to get into full-time ministry when the Lord opened the door for marriage to Keith. She now serves alongside Keith in the ministry as laborer, minister and administration. Keith & Betsy are both licensed pastors through the Missionary Church USA, equipping them to help others with spiritual needs.
Keith & Betsy have 3 grown children who have given them ten grandchildren. They enjoy spending time with family, taking walks, hiking and traveling when time allows.
